But upon arrival, where can you find cheap parking in Monaco and get the right tips? Follow the guide below.
Parking in Monaco: lane parking for a fee
For aesthetic reasons and for the comfort of living, the Duchy has designated several areas with floor markings. Paid parking by the road is only about 1000 spaces. It is possible from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 19:00 . On Saturdays, parking is only available until noon and is free on Sundays and public holidays .
The rate is € 2.40 per hour and the maximum parking time in most areas is two hours.
The exceptions are Boulevard des Moulins and Rue Grimaldi (upper part), where the price is € 1.50 for half an hour. Additionally, the maximum parking time is 30 minutes .
Other exceptions: Avenue Princesse Grace and Avenue de Grande Bretagne. Parking is allowed for four hours for 9.60 € . The hourly wage is therefore € 2.40 . Additionally, the surface car park is free of charge for electric cars.
To pay for the parking, select the paybyphone application . Parking in Monaco and paying from your phone or the Internet has many advantages. No more paper, no rush to parking meters, and above all, high flexibility.
You can extend or shorten the parking time within the maximum allowed limit, remotely and at no extra cost. Of course, the „classic” parking meter payment methods are possible: cash or credit card. So you have a choice.
Cheap parking in Monaco: street parking for free
There are hardly any vacancies in the center of Monaco. However, you will still be able to find a few spots, but it will likely require a long walk or use of public transport to explore the principality.
To fully enjoy the city and attractions of Monaco just around the corner, paid parking is still the best option.
Parking in Monaco in a guarded paid parking lot
To park in Monaco, using safe and paid parking is by far the best option. The principality made every effort to ensure that there was enough space for guests from all over the world. There are no less than 40 car parks and 15,500 spaces available. This is twice as much as in the largest cities of France with an area of just two square kilometers. Despite the small size of the territory and high maintenance costs, parking is therefore very attractive.
Upon arriving in town, follow the P signs to the nearest parking lot.
In Monaco car parks, the first hour of parking is free . The specificity of Monaco that makes everyone stop for a few purchases and go out without creating double lines in the streets.
All paid car parks, except the casino car park, have a night discount. From 19:00 to 08:00 parking in Monaco costs only € 0.60 per hour. If you arrive after 19:00 , the first hour is always free.
Even during a short stay, the Multiparc Card is interesting to find cheap parking in Monaco. Free, valid in all car parks, it allows discounts from 20 to 40% depending on the time of parking. To use it, go to one of the two commercial agencies (Center Commercial Carrefour or Parking du Casino) and top up your card (minimum amount is ten euros).
Then just scan it at the entrance and exit of the parking lot. The parking fee is then charged directly to the Multiparc card. Then you can top up your card online. The only catch: money is non-refundable, so make sure you get it right.

Depending on the neighborhood, the daily rate for parking in Monaco ranges from € 20 to € 30 . The most expensive neighborhoods are the most touristic.

Free parking in Monaco? Yes it is possible!
But there is also a chance for a free parking space. You just have to like to walk as this parking lot is located 2km from Monte-Carlo, the heart of Monaco, directly across the border on the French side of Avenue Princesse Grace. If you feel like walking, there is no cheaper way to enter Monaco by car. But be careful, it is very difficult to find parking during the day as every insider knows about this place.
